Run A Mile for Heartbeat

The Youth Sport Trust’s National School Sport Week 2016 will take place from 20-24 June. This is a fantastic opportunity to encourage your pupils to be more active and take part in more PE and school sport.

Would your school like to get involved with a “FUN 1 Mile Run” on your school playing fields in aid of a local charity Heartbeat?

Heartbeat is the North West’s leading cardiac rehabilitation charity, providing services for over 700 people every week. Heartbeat works with schools and local community groups, both fundraising and raising awareness of heart issues.

Getting involved is simple and all that is asked is that each child taking part in the run would donate £1 to the charity.

It’s a great opportunity for your pupils to take part and have lots of FUN not only supporting National School Sport Week, but also supporting a local charity at the same time.

Charity fundraiser John Gibson can help you to organise the fundraiser and can support you with press releases and promotional material for the event.

John served in the HM Forces for over 30 years, and then worked in sport nationally with British Tennis and England Squash. He is a member of the South Ribble Leisure Board Trust and whilst working for England Squash was a member of the Lancashire Sport Partnership Board. He is also a member of the Bamber Bridge Football Club Committee organising Kids mascots (Primary Schools) for home matches.

If your school would like to get involved and run a mile for Heartbeat, contact John at by 31st March.
