This is only our second competition in hockey and we were surprised at how well we were performed throughout the evening. The children proudly wore their medals to school the following day.
“The more sport we participate in and the more competitions we enter, the more the children learn about the value and effect of teamwork – whether we win or lose. The SPAR Lancashire School Games certainly helps the children see the benefits of self-belief and determination.”
Jane Johnson, Lancashire School Games Organiser for Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley said: “Hockey is a great way of developing effective teamwork, self-belief and determination. The SPAR Lancashire School Games encourages schools to try new sports such as hockey, climbing and angling, and also provides children with the experience of taking part in competitive sport. Congratulations to all schools who took part!”
