The Success Story of the SPAR Lancashire School Games 2019

With this year’s SPAR Lancashire School Games having come to a close, the event has been a great success in the light of the six School Games values: determination, honesty, passion, respect, self-belief, and teamwork. Earlier this year, a review of the Games’ story thus far has been uploaded here, but many more great events were to come after that, making this year’s event such great success…

After several fantastic Level 3 competitions, including Sportshall Athletics, Handball Competitions and a Dance Event, an emerging schools’ Table Tennis Competition was held at Garstang High School, with numerous students from across the county representing their schools.

A year of fantastic events leading up to the School Games was then concluded by two brilliant tennis competitions for both primary and secondary schools in late June, with all participants having worked hard and demonstrating great teamwork skills and determination.

Eventually, the day of the SPAR Lancashire School Games has finally arrived and thousands of school children came together to take part in the county’s largest youth sporting event, held at Blackpool’s Stanley Park on Tuesday 2nd July. The Games gave young children across Lancashire the platform to participate in sport and represent their schools, while having fun and enjoying a day out with their friends. All photographs of the day can be found in our gallery here and further press coverage can be found here.

However, we will not rest on this great success, so the preparations for the School Games 2020 are already well underway! See some of the key dates in the following:
